Happy Birthday To Me!! Well it's officially my birthday, I'm not 22 until 3:03 am but by the time most of you read this it will be past that time for sure. I've been celebrating since Thursday and I've been having a blast. Thursday night I went out with my girls and had me a good ole time. Amazing! Then Friday my mom came in town and we hung out for the day and then late last night my friend Chelsey & Heather came into town and we went out. Today we went shopping, ate at Spanky's and cooked out at the house. Then after dinner we played some games, they were fun. So far I've gotten a new outfit, 3 pairs of shoes, 2 belts, and a Target giftcard. All of which I really like. Wahoo for birthdays, I can't believe I'm 22...

Okay so here's my tshirt design, would you be interested in one? Because I called the lady today and the tshirt will be made soon, but I need to find out how many. So if you want one leave the size and I will make sure to order you one, the max cost would be 6.50 but the bigger the order the cheaper it gets. Instead of the writing being white, it will be a putty color and the shirt is a dark brown. For those of you that own the midnight tshirt, it will be that color. You have till Sunday night to let me know...

So today I registered for my summer classes, my last two classes at Texas Tech University. Weird. Can you believe it's been 4 years already? I sure can't. So I have 4 months to live it up before I leave this place, what shall I do? I actually made a list of things I wanna go do before I leave Lubbock, some of them many of you wouldn't understand because they are more of childhood memories. So here's the list I've made so far...
1) Go to the science spectrum.
2) Go to Apple Country.
3) Learn to drive a stick.
4) Go to the drive-in.
5) Eat at County Line.
6) Savor those places that don't exist anywhere else like Cilantro's & Bahama Buck's.
7) Go country dancin'.
8) Camping!
9) Go horseback riding.
I'm sure there are many more but for now that's all I can think of. Last night I played bball with Ashley and I had a blast. We played a game of Horse in which she won, but then we played two more rounds "Elephant" and "Kangaroo" and I won both, go me! By the way I suck at bball so how I won is really a mystery to me. I had a blast hanging out over at my neighbors house last night playing bball with the guys and Ashley, not the typical activity for myself. Then I went out with Katie, Spencer & Matt and I had a good ole time with them as well. Life is good, couldn't ask for better. Next weekend my mom and best friend will be in town and I'm so stinkin' excited. Whoa, I'll be 22 in 9days....weird.

I WENT TO THE PETTING ZOO TODAY!!!!!! And yes that is probably really how excited I am about it, I mean like jump for joy excited. Yes, I am a dork! So here's for the story: Last year everytime me or Emily passed the petting zoo we would call each other out of excitement, but never made it. So the other day I'm driving along and I see the petting zoo so I call Emily...turns out, Emily is going to be in Lubbock on Thursday. TODAY IS THURSDAY, so guess what that means? That's right me & Emily went to the petting zoo! I don't think anyone else could have understood how badly I wanted to go, so it was only right for me to be able to go with her...kind of like God allowed such a great thing to happen. We got to pet them and feed them, and I could have rode a camel had I wanted, but I resisted. There was a camel to ride, then just a regular camel, then a one-humped camel (Camelus Dromedarius), a pot belly pig, a GIANT tortuous, a bunch of goats that lick you lots, 2 llamas, an emu, some cow looking something or anothers, a zebra, wallabies (look like kangaroos to me), a jack rabbit/kangaroos mix looking thing...OH AMAZING! I heart my life! Anyway, I'll post pictures later because I'm going back because my stupid camera was broken, argh!

So I haven't posted in awhile because I don't really feel like anyone but my sister and cousin reads this, and because my life really for the most part only consists of work & school. I have realized recently that I only have 4 mos. till I graduate which is a bit weird to me. It's a lot different than it was when I graduated from high school, now I'm kind of having to figure out something to do with my life. Although I'm still going to pursue further education I really do have to buckle down and figure out what it is I will do with my life. Today I realized that this may be the end of Lubbock, TX for me and this place has so many memories for me. Not only college memories but life long memories of visiting Grandparents and many holidays spent here. Not to say that I won't be back, but I think my sister has only been a back a couple times and it's only been because of me or because of a family death so I don't really feel like I'll be back here...can't decide if it's sad or not. There will be a lot I will miss, but West Texas isn't my flavor especially windy days like yesterday where you can barely stand up. West Texas weather is definately not something I enjoy, I love that one day it was 80 and the very next day it was snowing. Random thoughts for now...

After driving home and seeing cute little cowboys all over the place, I've decided that a city boy with a cowboy's heart who loves the Lord is the most irresistable man alive. I could never live in the country, but something about the cowboy just makes my heart do flips inside. I've always loved men in trucks & guys that play the guitar but then if you take a glimpse at George Strait you'd understand why the cowboy is so cute. Okay now you've got a glimpse into just how nutty I am...maybe it's all part of this country music kick I'm on. I've always loved country and always will, but lately I can't seem to turn it off...sooo good!!! Anyway, I love my life.

I love this quote by Ben Frasier in Blast From the Past, kind of makes me think about God with my life... "im asking you to trust me with out understanding why".

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I hope you're wearing green today, or you deserved to be pinched...thats just the honest truth. Well I drove to Denton yesterday morning, and here's a few things I got from the road.
1) Women should know how to drive a truck before they are allowed to operate one.
2) Truck (18-wheelers) drivers need to pay more attention to the road before the nearly kill someone like me.
3) Cowboys are way cute.
4) How could anyone in the world look at all that God has created and not be directed towards Him? Seriously.
5) If someone pulls up behind you, get over so they can pass you...otherwise you're just a jerk. (i really hate getting stuck behind someone going 15 under and they wont get out of your way)
6) Stay at a constand speed or at least with a mile or two. (some jerk passed me going at lest 10 over me, then i passed him going at least 10 faster then him...at least 5 x's...so annoying!)
Anyway, I got to Denton where I changed then hopped back into the car to head to Tyler. We went to Tyler to surprise me sister for her 26th Birthday, she was surprised thats for sure. It was so wonderful to get to see her, I miss her lots and lots and lots. I bought her the game 'Apples to Apples' so we played it last night which was fun. I think me & my sister laughed nearly the entire game. I had a good time in Tyler, but I definately didn't get to spend enough time with my sister.

Today we drove back to Denton which was tiring, we got stuck in traffic because it was switching from two lanes to one on a highway (dumb construction). I mention to my mom that it would be awesome if an 18-wheeler blocked the left lane so people couldnt keep trying to get ahead of everyone and just wait like the rest of us...and before you know it one does. It was seriously amazing! He pulled over just a little and some wrecker still passed him, so as a truck tried to pass him, he pulled over all the way cutting the truck off...go him! I ran some errands today and here in a little bit I'm going to dinner with my friend Johnny while my parents have some dinner party here. It's been good, but definately short.

Ain't it just like one of us to pick up the phone and call after a couple of drinks
And say "How've you been" and wonderin' that maybe you've been thinkin' 'bout me
And somewhere in the conversation an old familiar invitation always arrives
And I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight.

Everyone's known someone that they just can't help but want
And even though they just can't make it work out, well the ones who lingers on.
So once again we wind up in each other's arms, pretending that it's right
And I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight.

I know it's wrong,
But it ain't easy moving on.
So why can't two friends remember the good times once again?

Tomorrow when I wake up, I'll be feeling a little guilty, a little sad.
Thinkin' how it used to be before everything went bad.
I guess that's what it is and late night calls like this that we try to find
And I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight.
And I may hate myself in the morning,
But I'm gonna love you tonight...

whoa these lyrics are all too familiar to way too many people. how many times have you done something one night and woke up the next day and thought maybe that wasnt my smartest decisions...oh well! lessons learned right?

It's snowing! It's snowing! I'm sitting here in my nice warm house staring out the window watching the snow cocme down. Although its not sticking it's still way beautiful and I'm loving it. Although I would really really enjoy not having to spend my Spring Break indoors. I'd love to be chilling in the hammock with a book in one hand and bahama bucks in the other. I'd rather be wlaking the dog at the park while allowing him to chase the ducks. I'd way rather be able to play frisbee with Lexy & Marzi, but since it's snowing I'll enjoy it while I can. If it would stick I'd really be able to enjoy it, I'd probably be out playing in it. Perhaps dancing in the snow would be really fun...hmm.

Me and three of my kids! Oh how I love my kids, too bad I'm looking a little rought. Marcus, Liz & Brandon...I love you three!! Posted by Hello

Friday, March 4, 2005

We stand and lift up our hands
For the joy of the Lord is our strength
We bow down and worship Him now
How great, how awesome is He

Truly, how great how awesome is He? Although my life is sucking it up pretty bad right now I can find hope: For the joy of the Lord is my strength!!! These past couple days have been a little rough for me but God provides me with the strength I need to get through these hard times and he's also provided me with some truly incredible friends. Last night Liz drove out to see me because she knew that I needed to be loved on and it meant the world to me, because by no means is it a short drive and she needed to sleep but she sacrificed her own selfish desires to be there for me...what an angel. And then we grabbed Ali and headed to IHOP so we could all love on each other. Tonight Brandon showed me yet again how wonderful he is when he dropped everything to rescue his dumb "mother" who doesn't know how to change a tire and who was rather stressed out about the situation. Although Brandon had his own troubles to worry about he stopped in his tracks to take care of me. What selfless friends I have. I called Steph crying tonight after getting really stressed out and she just listened then left me tons of really fun and sweet messages on my AIM and that made me smile. Man I seriously have the most incredible friends, and I couldn't ask for any better than them. Brandon, Liz & Steph, the three of you mean the world to me and these past couple of weeks I've learned what true friends really look like I love you three so stinkin' much! I'd run to the end of the earth and back for you...don't ever hesitate to let me take care of y'all like y'all do for me.

More Chris Tomlin for you:

Great is Your faithfulness, oh God
You wrestle with the sinner's heart
You lead us by still waters into mercy
And nothing can keep us apart
YOUR GRACE IS ENOUGH!!! (do we believe those words?)

I think there are so many people hurting right now, it seems that everyone is going through something painful and I feel as if I've been selfish about wanting someone to comfort me when there are tons of people that need my love too. There is some serious heartache going on in the lives of those around me. I've seen my friends cry, I've seen my friends loose sleep to help others, I've seen my friends loose a loved one or a dear friend, I've seen my friends turn to the wrong thing to find a way out, I've seen my friends parents loose their jobs, I've seen the breakups, I've seen the stress & anxiety, I've seen the broken hearts all around me...Lord come down and help us to persevere because only with your strength Lord will we be able to. Lord I pray for everyone that's heart is broken and I pray that you would begin to mend those broken hearts. I pray for the families who are dealing with a loss of some kind whether it be finacially or because of a death, but help those families to get on their feet again and walk in your path.

I leave you with one last Chris Tomlin song:

What can take a dying man and raise him up to life again?
What can heal a wounded soul?
What can make us white as snow?
What can fill the emptiness?
What can mend our brokeness? Brokeness.
Mighty awesome, wonderful is the holy cross
Where the Lamb laid down His life to lift us from the fall
Mighty is the power of the cross
What restores our faith in God?
What reveals the Father's love?
What can lead the wayward home?
What can melt a heart of stone?
What can free the guilty ones?
What can save and overcome? Overcome.
Its a miracle to me, It's still a mystery.
Its a miracle to me, the power of God for those who believe

went and saw hitch tonight, it was good. i got to hang out with all 5 of my kids at one time...that was wonderful! I got to sit between my two girls and then Matthew was on the other side of Liz. Umm, I heart Lizzie's laugh and when we both start laughing oh it's fun. So I'm proud of myself, I went to the movies by myself...not a normal thing for me, I have such a weird complex about showing up places alone...but I DID IT! Afterwards everyone was going to Taco Bell but I decided to head home, but I didn't tell anyone. I know this is stupid, but sometimes I do that because I wanna know if anyone will actually notice if I'm gone...yes, I have issues. Need to work on that too. But my babies either noticed or they just wanted me to come to IHOP real bad. And although IHOP is my favorite place I decided to be the mother and come home and sleep so that I can wake up for church. I laughed lots in Hitch, it was good! I forget how expensive movies are in Lubbock, tonight was possibly the last time I see a movie for awhile.

now a continuation of last nights post. Steph, what a sweetheart and a girl who is completely running after God's desire for her life and someone who teaches me new things about God nearly everyday. Wow, Steph you amaze me as I've got to see you change over the last couple years. Marcus, that boy directed me to scripture when my heart was in the wrong place...what a stud! Ali, the girl gives me insight to the new things God is teaching her everyday. Matthew, his desire to see the true meaning of the scripture encourages me. I know there are still many more of you that I can say great things about and in time I will. I love you all so very much especially my 5 little childrens: Lizzie, Brandon, Ali, Matthew & Marcus!!!

Unfortunately there has been a lot of death going on in the last couple of weeks which has made me very appreciative for my own life and the live's of those around me. It's also had me thinking a lot about my own life. How much time do I spend wasting worrying about tomorrow when I should concern myself with today? I mean obviously I need to make sure that I start looking for somewhere to go in August when I graduate, and stuff like that. So what am I doing today that could further the Kingdom of Heaven? What would people say about me if I were to die today? I was reading Whitney's blog today about her daddy and I was just thinking I wonder if people could say some of those same things about me? How am I glorifying God today? Oh, I love the teachings of our Lord...man life is good.

So what would I say about you and your life? My sister, what a woman of God, one I look up to and aspire to be. A woman in which I admire every last aspect about. My roommate, Alissa, passionate about the rest of the world. My roommate, Renee, also passionate about the rest of the world and good at opening my eyes to what scripture says. Brandon, a stud, man of God who I truly am amazed at when I look at his life. Running after the Lord, pursuing Him with everything in Him and passionate about furthering the Kingdom of Heaven. A good friend and a great leader. Liz, such a sweet spirit, always filling the room with joy, pursuing God and His best for her life and loving her friends. And many more of my friend, I cherish all of my friendships with all of you. I love you a lot and wouldn't trade anything in the world for your friendships. Don't you think I forgot you, more to come tomorrow:)

"Everything is permissible for me"-but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"-but I will not be mastered by anything. 1 Corinithians 6:12

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Psalms 27:14

Oh how impatient I sometimes am, but in due time God will provide only the best for me. God is so faithful and I am very aware of this especially as of lately. God has shown me so much in these past two months that today I was moved to tears in awe of His amazing love and faithfulness. God is doing so much in my life and the lives of those around me. God is using me in ways I never expected and God is pouring into me in ways I never really expected either.

Punky Brewster
Theme Song

Maybe the world is blind,
Or just a little unkind.
Don't know.

Seems you can't be sure
Of anything anymore.
Although,

You maybe lonely and then,
One day you're smiling again.
Every time I turn around,
I see the girl that turns my world around.
Standing there ...

Everytime I turn around,
Her spirit's lifting me right off the ground.
What's gonna be?
Guess we'll just wait and see.

So last night and today I watched 2 Discs from Season 1 of Punky, and I just love the theme song. The show is great too! Wahoo! Who remembers this wonderful show? Because way too many of my friends never even saw the show...what the heck?!?

Love Love Weekend

This weekend was the Southcrest Sprizzle Rizzle, aka I love love weekend. We talked about the stuff I love most: relationships. Made me even more excited about eventually getting into my future career, can't wait to deal with relationships on a daily basis. We talked about men & womens roles, sex, singleness, marriage, dating, etc. If it had to do with love we covered it! We also talked about doing everything for the glory of God, so how is it that you do everything for the glory of God? Do you glorify God in your friendships? Dating relationships? Marriage? Through Work? At school? heres a good one, and one i should probably work on...through your driving? I learned that no man will ever be Jesus, but where he is lacking Jesus takes over...good to know. There is so much I learned this weekend, not only during the word spoken to us but through new people and through time spent with God. He has a hold of my heart right now and I'm so excited about seeing what He has in store for me. I could talk forever, but I'm so high on life that I wanna talk to people for real not just through this thing. But there's a little update for you.

Thursday, February 3, 2005

So in Human Sexuality we have been talking about the issue of homosexuality and well my mind starts whirling as I look at the different theories. It's really hard for me to sit in class and try to take these ideas in with my completely God centered ideology. So there are theories stating that homosexuality may be genetics and also is a psychosocial process. Ultimately if you look at it from a God centered prespective you will see that homosexuality is a sin just like any other sin, so therefore it is a choice. So just as I can choose to start drinking I can choose to participate in the homosexual lifestyle. Why is it that in society we mask alcoholism and homosexuality? Because we have found that if your dad is an alcoholic then it raises your risk to be alcoholic so therefore we almost kind of excuse it as a "disease". Isn't it true that our sin becomes a generational thing? It's biblical. So its a sin we will have to fight, if you find out that your dad is an alcoholic then its at that point that you must make a decision to watch your own lifestyle. So then let's look at homosexuality and how a lot of people would say that they don't know anyone in the rest of the family that are homosexual, which I'm sure it has been an issue before and no one knows about it because it has been so unacceptable till recently. I could probably write over 6 pages on this, but I'm going to try to keep it to the minimal so if my thoughts seem kind of scattered its because my mind is running faster than my hands can type. But here goes it:

In the beginning God created us man and woman. In Genesis 2:18,21, & 24 we see God's purpose in woman being created after man was so he would not be alone. God didn't create another man for Adam but he created a woman, and then in verse 24 God tells us we will leave our father & mother to become one with this person. I am going to go ahead and say that if one of the first things God did was created us to be together he probably wasn't taking that too lightly. In Leviticus 18:22 God talks to Moses about unlawful sexual relations and he tells him not to lie with another man as he would with a woman for it is abomination.

Then there is 1 Corinithians 6:9-20 . In verse 9, we are told not to indulge in such sins as homosexuality, drunkeness, being greedy, etc. (1) Homosexuality is a sin just like all other sins. Alcoholism, if you are were an alcoholic would you give into the sin and drink yourself to death? So why would you indulge yourself in whatever sin it is? So this girl in my class is homosexual and doesn't really see it as a sin. And she feels that if she leaves the lifestyle she will be living a lie so her argrument to use was that if she fails to give into her sin of homosexuality then she is living a lie because she genuinely believes she was born to be homosexual. I will use alcohol as a comparsion again; if you are an alcoholic then you are an alcoholic for life, but just because you give up drinking doesn't mean that your life is a lie. (2) Vs. 11-You can be freed from your sin. (3) Vs. 12-Do not allow yourself to become a slave to your sin. (4) Vs. 15-Your body belongs to God. Vs. 18- You should not sin against your own body. Vs. 20-You must honor God with your body.

Although this post was directed towards homosexuality we must think about our own sin in our lives and allow our selves to be freed from that. I cried in my class today as I heard the opinions of those in my class and realized how lost this world truly is. By no means will being freed from our sins be easy and we will probably struggle with it for some time, but don't be scared because the Lord is willing to free us and He will. I'd write more but I'm going to go hang out with my best friend. I love you all lots!!!

So tonight was an amazing night and all thanks to my new friends and some old. I went and picked up Dayle to go to Sugar Brown's when I had the sudden urge to buy pink saucony's so we went to the mall, unfortunately Journey's was out of the 8 1/2 (God was telling me something). So we headed to SB's for some good ole live music. There was a $2 cover charge that I was unaware of so Jennifer Green spotted me so I could get in the door, what a sweet girl! Abe was playing when we got there, just started I'm sure so I got to enjoy him. After walking around a bit, I was offered a seat next to Jennifer which turned out great. Jordan's roommate looks like Napolean Dynamite and because of this he got on stage and did his few seconds in fame, I laughed lots. (Videod it, but the sound isnt good b/c of too many other noises) Had a blast at Sugar Brown's with all of my wonderful friends. After SB's me & Dayle went to IHOP where we experience something interesting to say the least. First and foremost there are these wonderful high school girls talking really loud and being really stupid. Fatimah walks up to them and they start 20 questions with her, what a patient woman. So shes stating that she's from Malaysia when this girl says "oh middle asia?" And Fatimah gives her the benefit of the doubt and says, "no its under Thailand" but me, I would have said "u idiot, i said Malaysia not Middle Asia" I think me & Dayle laughed about that for awhile. Then these two older men start talking to us, did I say CREEPY older men? I seriously considered calling Brandon at this point and telling him to come save me, but I resisted. So these men keep talking to us although we're rather disinterested, I answer to be polite but put my head down to show extreme disinterest. But they didn't read that and just kept talking to us. He told me I should be in a pagent because of my quick and witty responses. I'm pretty sure the man was drunk, but whatever. Then we went to Wally World because I had to get something and that was entertaining because of Dayle's fear of the place because of the recent Tyler abduction. Had a blast with Dayle, glad we're such great friends now, being seperated at birth was a bit rough though. I'll post pictures tomorrow of tonights fun, but I leave you with words by Dayle(purple writing is all her).

Dayle's Away Message: yay for new southcrest friends at sugar browns and scary drunk men at ihop with jana and napoleon dynamite and the gross creepy man glove in the walmart parking lot and the woman saying "be careful" ... way to freak me out on that one! but no good for shin splints, or the cold foggy thing in the air and having to walk/run to the car parked in china and getting mean looks from a family all wearing mexican ponchos but none being of the hispanic persuasion...hmmm...explain that one!

the new motto: "facebook brings people together" (but it can be a bad thing sometimes!!!)

How would you describe me in one word?

owen3368: your amazing
owen3368: your incredible
owen3368: your stunning
owen3368: your intriguing
owen3368: your captivating

Now James went overboard, but that's to get you started.

If one word doesn't work you could always do a summary:

owen3368: damn, some guy is going to be the king of the world when he gets you

Okay, get on it, i wanna hear opinions!

I've been wanting to post for several days now but I can't seem to capture all my thoughts. God has been doing so much in my life, and I don't know where to start. God has showed me so much through his word, prayer, and through friends. God has shown me a lot about friendships, his promises, his love, and his faithfulness. Last night Cale accepted Christ and the joy that gives me alone is amazing, to see the love he has for God kind of stops me in my trail. I have just began to get to know Cale, but look forward to getting to know him better. What a joyful picture that paints for me as I think of the Heavens rejoicing. I've been reading through scripture and seeing God fulfilling His promises and getting to see the promises he makes for His children is sweet too. I just stand in awe of everything that my God is to me and for me. I am very thankful for the friendships that are developing in my life right now and couldn't ask for anything better than that. I really can't even begin to express everything that is on my mind right now. God is amazing and I love seeing everything He is doing in my life and the lives of others. While I'm at it, can I just say I'm stoked because my best friend is having a baby! That's right my friend, Lauren is gonna have a baby! Not only that but her & Josh are building a house now too. I love you Lauren and I am so excited for you & Josh!

Here's to an incredible guy... Posted by Hello

Last night I got sick and I've been just laying around all day. And this guy came over and brought me a blizzard instead of going to watch a movie with his friends. Now that's a great friend I have. If you take a look at that picture you can have a little glimpse at why I enjoy hanging out with him so much. Not only is he fun, but he's great to talk to. Thanks for everything Brandon, you are great!

Today I was reading my bible and ran across a passage that spoke to me. Genesis 29:31:35 “But because Leah was unloved, the LORD let her have a child, while Rachel was childless. So Leah became pregnant and had a son. She named him Reuben, for she said, ‘The LORD has noticed my misery, and now my husband will love me.’ She soon became pregnant again and had another son. She named him Simeon, for she said, ‘The LORD heard that I was unloved and has given me another son.’ Again she became pregnant and had a son. She named him Levi, for she said; ‘Surely now my husband will feel affection for me, since I have given him three sons!’ Once again she became pregnant and had a son. She named him Judah, for she said; ‘Now I will praise the LORD!’ And then she stopped having children.” So let’s look at the meaning of Leah’s son’s names:

1) Reuben- “Look a son” or “He has seen my misery”

2) Simeon- “one who hears”

3) Levi- “being attached” and “feeling affection for”

4) Judah- “praise”

God saw that Leah was miserable because her husband didn’t love her so He showed favor for her by giving her a son, in which she named “he has seen my misery”. Leah hoped that Jacob would love her more now that she had given him a son, but Jacob didn’t love her any more. The Lord gave her yet another son and still she didn’t feel loved by her husband. Then a third son was born naming him “feeling affection for” hoping that Jacob would feel affection for her, but still nothing. So God bore her another son, “praise” in which Leah finally saw that she was to praise the Lord for his blessing upon her in her misery.

I can’t help but look at women and how this situation with Leah applies to all women. I can’t help but think about how women totally believe that if they do something for a guy he will love them more. In Leah’s case she has children hoping that Jacob will favor her and love her more than he loves her sister Rachel. A lot of girls think that if they put out with a guy than he will love her more, but most of the time this is not true. So girls, be cautious of that because if a guy doesn’t love you prior to the gifts you give him he’s probably not going to love you after.

This immediately makes my mind turn to the book, Lady In Waiting, by Debby Jones & Jackie Kendall. If you are a female I really think that picking up and reading this book would be a wise decision. A line in the book I will never forget “be sensitive to your motives whenever you find yourself in the presence of ‘available men’.” Then they quote Proverbs 16:2 “All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.” So although God blessed Leah with a son, what was Leah’s ultimate motive in that? To be loved by her husband. We as women must watch our motives and not only that but we must realize that our deepest longings can only be satisfied by God.

This summer I read a book called, Lies Women Believe, by Nancy Leigh Demoss. One of the lies was “I should not have to live with unfulfilled longings.” I quote her on this, “the deepest longings of our hearts cannot be filled by any created person or thing…every living thing is created to disappoint us.” God has made us to only be truly satisfied in Him and in no other person or thing. In looking at Leah’s story in my devotional Women of Character, Lawrence Kimbrough states “the more we place our expectations on another person, the more control we give them over our emotional and spiritual state.”

We must realize that we cannot find satisfaction in anyone but Christ or in any thing. Leah was blessed by the Lord greatly by giving her sons and a daughter and in the end she was buried next to her husband and Rachel was not. God has taught me so much through this scripture. I had another paragraph, but after much consideration I realize that too many people are going to have differeing opinions on the subject at hand and cannot handle my own interpretation of such events.

This may be a really long post, but I've got a lot on my mind. I hate when my mind starts going crazy like this at a wee hour in the night and there is no one I can call and say meet me at Daybreak I need to talk. And I just sit here, tears rolling down my cheeks trying to type to a friend as fast as I can...then I just want them to hug me but they haven't wired my computer yet to give me hugs when I need them. Stupid Dell people!

This morning Dusty talked about how God uses the good and the worst things for our good. And I'm sure I wasn't the only one in the room that when he said the worst things thought immediately of something in their life currently or recently that was bad and God made good. So I will share those points he made dealing with how God uses the worst things for our good:

1) The evil of affliction works for the good of the godly.
2)The evil of temptation is overruled for the good of the godly.
3) The evil of sin works for the good of the godly.
My personal life:
1) Affliction-Grandma's Death
2) Temptation-Lots of sin
3) Sin-allowing temptation to take place in my life

So I think to myself how is any of this good? Well I look at my life today. My Grandma dying was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with in my life. It still hurts to this day, and I miss her terriably. Two months after her death I finally could move on a little, but it still hurt. After that I just took a downword spill for the worst. I had my ups and downs, mostly ups and I was getting my life back on track but then July 2004 occured. I think I was kind of looking for a way to escape and at that time I met a guy and started an entirely different lifestyle, not one I would have ever expected of myself. For the next six months I would travel my sinful life still going to church regularly and playing the Christian role, but the relationship with God was pretty much non-existent and I had a totally different life outside of the church than I did in the church. Thanks for a great friend, Johnny I was able to realize exactly how much I had changed and while God was showing me that himself Johnny was able to tell me exactly what he had witnessed and how I use to be. I was aware of the change, but didn't really care. I remember calling my sister one night after doing something really stupid to confess and ask for her help. I told her that I enjoyed the lifestyle and didn't want to stop doing the things I was doing because I enjoyed it so much but I knew that I had to stop. But I just didn't have the strength. Then I fell again and over Christmas break I made a decision to change and around this time I made a new friend, Brandon who I talked to everyday and because of his encouragement in my life I was able to step up to the plate and get the game on. I picked up my bible this week and I haven't been able to put it down since. God is good, and God has had victory with me now. God used that bad and made it good. I have been humbled before the Lord and I am very serious about the removal of the sin from my life. Here's to changing what use to be, and starting fresh. My heart rejoices before the Lord!

Tonight after experiencing all this I decide to reread old journal entries from the time my Grandma got sick to her death. I think total it was like a seven month process, the most dreaded seven months of my life. As I'm sitting here reading my journal I catch myself singing praise songs so I decide to throw in one of my many worship albums and to my suprise its the cd with the song I heard one night leaving Daybreak after finding out bad news about my Grandma...the song called, "Unashamed Love" by Ten Shekel Shirt. These words caused me to stop still that night: " Calling me to lay aside the worries of my day. Quiet down my busy mind to find a hiding place. Worthy, worthy. Open up my heart and let my Spirit worship yours, open up my mouth and let a song of praise come forth. Worthy, you are worthy! Of a childlike faith, of my honest praise, of my unashamed love..." Talk about hitting your face and calling on the Lord. When my Uncle died in September of 2001 the song I Can Only Imagine had just started circling, I had never heard it before and my uncle had died Tuesday and I had enough strength to make it to Paradigm Thursday and I was sitting there as Justin Cofield started to sing the song, I took of running because I couldn't handle it not then. Since then that song has been very dear to my heart and when my Grandma was laying there dying my family sang that song one night and prayed for God to take her, she hang on so long though. God is good! And it's hard to say that when you are in something as painful as that, but God finally took GeeMa from this Earth and although it sucks to be here and to not have her. Oh but what a joy it is to be in Heaven dancing around singing praises to the Father...I can only imagine!

God's blessing in my life this week: This week I found out that I wouldn't be getting a paycheck till Feb. 21st which is kind of a problem because I have very little money. But I know God is faithful and I know he will provide for me as he always does. My mom calls today and tells me she is sending me my rent check early which also means a couple extra bucks in cash. And today I get a call from Kohl's, I got the job. I have training Saturday, so lets just pray I get paid for that. So Kohl's starts the end of February so I still have some time before I get that paycheck too, but eventually I will have money and I think I could use some money management skills during this time. Anyway, God is good!

Genesis 6:5--8 "Now the Lord observed the extent of the people's wickedness, and he saw that all their thoughts were consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them. It broke his heart. And the Lord said, 'I will completely wipe out this human race that I have created. Yes, and I will destroy all the animals and birds, too. I am sorry I ever made them.' But Noah found favor with the Lord." For the longest time after reading these scriptures I thought why in the world hasn't God ended this world again and today I ran across the answer to that. Genesis 8:21 "And the Lord was please with the sacrifice and said to himself, 'I will never again curse the earth, destroying all living things, even though peoples thoughts and actions are bent towards evil from childhood. ' " and Genesis 9:12-13 "And God said, 'I am giving you a sign as evidence of my eternal covenant with you and all living creatures. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is my sign of my permanent promise to you and to all the earth.' " So now everytime I look at the rainbow I will think about God's promise to His people and know that no matter how bad we keep screwing things up he won't destroy the land again. Makes you think doesn't it?

So tonight I sit in Sugar Brown's and the loudness of the coffee shop suddenly finds a silence in my mind and I feel a since of peace and quiet among all the craziness of this world. The voices are definately still there and the door keeps making that wonderful ding noise and SB's begins to fill more and more with people. But somehow in the midst of it all I find myself journaling at my table with a light right on my journal and my mind focused right on God. I start praying for my semester as last semester was rather tough on me and I took some shady paths. I pray for accountability in my life and thank God for the little accountability I do have. Then I realize just then that a certain guy that I'm real good friends with is an accountability partner and he doesn't even know it. He's that to me because of the way he lives his life and his passion for God. Seeing him and his zeal for the Lord encourages me and is in a way keeping me accountable in my own walk with God. I have a real hard time being good about spending time with the Lord with out serious accountability and I realized tonight that I don't necessarily have to have "Sue" there to ask me everyday "did you read your bible today?" but to have myself surrounded by Godly people that are always pushing me to go further in my walk with God. So thanks to you Brandon, I have accountability because your passion encourages me. I can't help but think of yet another Godly guy in my life who has also had a great influence in my recent change of heart and my guidance back onto the right path...my dear friend, Johnny. This past semester was a bit rough, but I would always talk to Johnny about things and he was always there to encourage me and to spur me on. It was Johnny who talked to me and made me realized that I had really changed a lot and I needed to get back into the word hard core and just start living my life the way I use to. Since I was too stubborn to listen to God on my own, God was willing to send Johnny into my life to talk to me. I knew what I needed to do, and I could hear God's voice telling me but I was being stupid. So thanks Johnny for helping me out and kind of guiding me back onto the right path. So here's to a fresh start...I wanna start this semester off right, and I really don't wanna fall off track again. So may God be with me through this journey and may I continue to surround myself with other Godly people who will spur me on, and who maybe I in turn can spur on too. I love you all and thanks for being there for me!

P.S. My sister bought me a prayer journal for Christmas and some of you I have already assigned to a day a week that I will be praying for you specifically and the things in your life. So if you want me to be praying for you let me know, I got a monthly calender of events and daily, so you let me know when to pray for what and I'll be sure to pray. And if you do something every week at the same time and you want me to pray for it, let me know about that too. Love you all!

Here's to randomness... Posted by Hello

So last night Brandon is talking to me and tells me to come to Roswell to hear him speak, I briefly consider it but there is no way I can make it. I mean I'd have to stay at someones house that I don't know in Roswell because I wouldn't have wanted to head back tonight alone. So late last night I IM Abe and ask him if he wanted to go, and he of course kind of hesitated but today...Abe's in! So today I figure I should invited Brandons best friend, not me but the other one...Jeff Conn and he says maybe. So then I ask Chavon for directions because Brandon doesn't answer his phone and well she decides to go too and then of course she invites Joe. Jeff ended up not being able to go, but still the rest of us hopped in my car and headed for Roswell, NM to hear my little Napolean speak. The trip was great and its about as spontaneous as I'll ever be. It was so worth it for our wonderful friend, Brandon. Then Brandon being the amazing guy that he is bought us all dinner. Somehow I'll repay him, even if I have to cook him 20 homecooked meals. Thats right I'm repaying you Brandon!

So as I sit here writing and rewriting my blog I decide to take a brief break to read todays small little devotion out of this devotional book my mother gave me, it's by Joyce Meyer. The verse is Psalms 91:1-2, the word that gets me is found in verse 2: "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I TRUST!" My future lies in Gods hands and at this time I truly just have to trust in Him. Joyce says "Trusting God requires knowing Him-knowing His character and having experience with Him. Going through trials with God by your side builds your faith." I can't help but think of the past 6 months and think of the many trials I've gone through and now to stop and look at what could be next year when I didn't expect it at all. All I can do write now is pray and trust God with my future. This semester I must get my life straight and I almost don't think that I'm ready for seminary just yet, but I definately wanna get my masters in counseling eventually. But I must work my way up to where i wanna be and if I teach for three years then I can be a counselor in the school system. And for some crazy reason God has been giving me a passion for youth lately and while my passion for marriage counseling is still there, I may be starting off my career with youth first. I don't know for sure, but my mind is running at a 100 miles an hour and I'm ready to see what God has in store for me. So if you run across this then please be sure to pray for me, at least right now so I've been covered in prayer at least this once. I wanna take this semester to change my life and get back to where I use to be. I can't wait to see what God has in store for me this semester, yay I can't wait!

I had interview numbero uno today with Frenship ISD and I definately got the job. Last night I couldn't fall asleep because I had a lot on my mind concerning the next year. Yesterday as I sorted through emails regarding my church endorsement things began to show a really really negative turn. I stayed up thinking about stuff: looked at other seminaries, contimplated the thought of staying a year and getting my teachers certification and lastly doing an intern in Tyler to take a year off of school. So these thought circulate my mind for hours on end, but I finally make myself fall asleep because I have an interview to attend. So I'm at my interview and one of the first questions I'm asked is "What do you plan on doing with your degree?" I respond, "well actually I had planned on attending seminary, but some unfortunate things are going on...blah blah blah, yada yada yada." Well turns out his daughter wanted to do the same thing as me, she graduated from Hardin Simmons with a Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy. She went to find a job and after a year found nothing. Only big churches can afford to have counselors on staff and they choose to seek counselors who are really experience...so his daughter is now living in San Antonio working for the CPS. So I explain to him how I actually came to Tech planning on getting my education degree and of course he encourages it since I am wanting to take on as subbing job. So stay a year get my teaching certification and then work for three years as a teacher then I am certified to be able to be a counselor in the school system. Then just work my way up, and if all else fails...I got that to fall back onto at anytime. So what am I gonna do? Hit my knees and start prayin'! So please please please pray for me and my decision. Thanks!

So today I got the answer to my questions about why friendships fade...

I found my answer in this relevant article by Amos Hathway entitled, "Worthy Relationships".

So Satan plays a role, imagine that? Satan sees these wonderful friendships and tries to destroy them because he is jealous. I also see the other side where God takes them away because they are not glorifying to Him. But it's funny because I know Satan is trying to keep those relationships together at the same time because they don't glorify God and those are the ones Satan really likes for us to be in.

Hathway states, "
I believe the relationships that we have to fight for here on earth are the ones that will be key in eternity." As I truly evalutate that statement I think about a relationship between me and my best friend, Chelsey and a relationship between me and my friend, Sarah. Chelsey and I have been friends for eight years now, and I can say it hasn't been easy for us. I can recall many fights that nearly ended our friendship, but I kept working at it. When I was ready to give up on the friendship, something kept pushing me and giving me the desire to keep caring for her. There would be times when we wouldn't talk for awhile and it sucked, but our friendship always came around. Two years ago Chelsey got pregnant out of wed, and God warned me plenty of the situation and prepared me to be able to be a true friend to Chelsey. Because of everything I did for Chelsey during those times, Chelsey realized I was around to stay and that I would never leave her side no matter what she did. It was when she got engaged that she called me and said "will you be my Maid of Honor?" Last October Chelsey drove into town the weekend my Grandma died and one thing I remember was in the car we were driving to lunch and she said something to me about being there for her and the difference I had made in not only her life, but her husbands and her sons. Our friendship hasn't been easy and there are still times that I could give up like when she doesn't return my calls, but I work at it. And our relationship is very rewarding. I love Chelsey so much and although it's been tough, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. So that brings me to Sarah...Sarah and I had something really special last year. We spent everyday together and we were both growing in the Lord together and suddenly that friendship drifted and it was gone pretty quickly. We still talk but it's nothing like before and thats when I see why Satan would crash that relationship because it was so God centered. But it's a relationship that is worth working at. It's hard for us to spend time together now because of busy schedules but this semester we both want to try really hard to set aside time to hang out and do accountability together. Friendships aren't easy I guess, but they are golden and they are worth keeping so work at it.

If you haven't heard from a friend in awhile you should give them a call. I find myself calling those friends when something reminds me of them. One time last year when my friend, Trent was in Utah it had been awhile since I talked to him and I drove through a town called Trent and I called him. Sometimes I feel that God shows use things like that so that we will call that friend or stop and pray for them. I love you all a lot and to those I haven't seen awhile, lets hang out soon. It was good over Christmas break because I got to see a really dear friend of mine, Liz! And I also got to hang out with an old buddy, Dane. I always love being able to see old friends and I had lots of fun with both of them. Before I went home for the break I reunited with my friend, Mandy and it was great. I wish I could remain friends with everyone I've ever been friends with but its hard. Like Sunday I hung out with some good friends of mine and I wish I got to see them more. This summer I got to hang out with Craig a lot, and Sunday getting to hang out with him made me miss this summer. Man oh man, I love my friends...new and old. As I sit here, I am talking to my friend, Ginnie and it reminds me of the days in which we hung out a lot...Mr. Potato Head, playing at the pool, and just having really good talks with her. Those things I miss about her and make me wanna spend time with her again. Man the more I think about it, the more of you I wanna see badly. I get to see Will this week and that makes me happy, I haven't hung out with him in forever but yet I love and cherish the times I get to spend with him now. Okay, I better go or I will bring up 30 more people and I'll never go to bed...I LOVE YOU ALL!

Today Jeff asked me what I would be doing in May...

Well here's the answer, in May I will be finishing up some school but I will still have one class left to take in summer school. I could try to finish it all up this semester but I think I'd end up with a really really crappy GPA. I have a job interview with Kohl's on the 10th and I might drop down to 12 hours and do 6 this summer and work full time this semester if they give me the job. If not then I'll go to class 15 hours and sub MWF. Either way, I don't graduate till August. So I don't know where I'll end up yet...

August I may end up at seminary or maybe in Tyler or maybe with out a job sitting on the side of the road or still here spending another year getting my teachers certification. Hopefully I'll be in Fort Worth at Southwestern, but if not I don't really know where I'll end up. I hate not knowing what or when or where...but I gotta have faith in God. Anyway, on that note I should probably finish my Statement of Call & Commitment for my application.

In eight months I have to start an all new life, and I'm kind of scared about it. All my friends that are graduating will be miles and miles away and my younger friends will still be stuck in this wonderful town...or is it wonderful? I'm not ready to grow up...

Sunday, January 2, 2005

I have so much on my mind right now, I feel like my mind is running far too fast and my heart can't keep up. I keep thinking about my past, my future and well of course my present. I think about all the mistakes I've made and how they've shaped me. And I am trying to let the stupid decisions I've made not mess me up now, but learn from them and do something about it. Life can truly be so confusing.

I miss some of my old friends a lot, but I guess there are these weird things called seasons and sometimes friends come and go whether we like it or not. It's weird how you can be best friends with someone, like practically inseperable and then the next minute you don't hardly even talk to each other. It's so weird how life turns out. It's weird that when you stick by your friends even when they have no desire to be your friend, you end up being their best friend and now you can say you've been friends for eight years. One characteristic Jeff & Ryan said they saw in me was that I was faithful, and sometimes I wish that my friends would be faithful to me. I wish that my friends would stick by me when I'm going through hard crap or when I start dating someone or when I get too busy.

Okay, I'll end my tangent here. Gotta try to clear my mind...

Happy New Year, it's 2005! What shall my New Year's Resolution be? When I think of a good one I will let you all know. So New Year's Eve was great, lasted really stinkin' long. We didn't go to bed till freakin' 5:30am and I had lunch plans with my family for 12. Definately woke up to the sound of my phone ringing at 12:10, "hey where are you?" Crap, I had missed my alarm and it's past time to be there, what kind of Granddaughter, niece, cousin am I? I ended up getting up and heading over there to delivery presents. I stayed over there awhile and watching part of Somethings Gotta Give with my Grandma, but then I got tired so I headed out.Ooo, I did get to see Napoleon Dynamite and it was great. It's probably going to become part of my collection soon...today I added Bad Boys & Annie! Wahoo! I counted my collection today, and I now have 88 Dvd's, saweet! This is to missing my bestest friend ever...who wouldn't miss someone that looked like that? I mean seriously...he's a lot of fun! Oh, he's my own little Napoleon Dynamite! Posted by Hello

This is the cake I decorated for our New Year's Party...not bad considering, I didn't have that great of tools to use.  Posted by Hello

Please pray for my friend, Krista and her family. They are going through a really tough time right now as they are dealing with the death of her grandparents and her brother is in the hospital still. Here's the link that tells of their story...

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Yay for Christmas! I'll start with Christmas Eve...I went over to Chelsey's yesterday after lunch to give her their Christmas present. And she gave me mine, a little figurine that said something real sweet about forever friends...it's downstairs so I can't say word for word what it says. I came home and played a game with the family, Buzz Word (real fun!). Then Christmas Eve service at church. We sang some Christmas stories, read of the birth of Christ then my pastor took a great turn. And we talked about the cross and Christ's purpose in life. We took communion and sang Joy to the World then we peaced out of there. We came home and I'm sure played another game, then we opened our Christmas Eve present...pajamas! Mine are real cute, green & red striped pants with a red shirt that says "I was good all year (mostly)". I stayed up late watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, good thing because I can't sleep on Christmas Eve.
So I woke up this morning at 5:30, but when I went to bed at 2 that seemed real unrealistic. My sister woke me up at 7:30 so I could shower and get ready to enjoy Christmas morning. We opened our stockings first thing: I got lambs, socks, 13 Going on 30, Cheaper by the Dozen & 50 First Dates and some other random nick nacks. We ate yummy yummy breakfast, breakfast casserole...I think we eat this every year. We then made our way back to the living room to open presents. I got a digital camera, woohoo! I got a couple games, dvds, wireless mouse, princess blanket and perfume...besides that just little nick nacks. We ate a yummy lunch with a cajun turkey! Then we played games all day, the new turbo edition of Cranium is pretty fun! Ya, we played games all freakin day long and it was amazing. Okay that's it for me!

Love!
Engagement Ring
You sure are loved, or are loving! Filled with
romantic giddiness, you radiate love,
affection, and caring. You know how to make
other people's day. Your only problem is that
you risk a chance of being rejected, which is
probably a large fear of yours.

What Type of Christmas Present are You?

If you can't see this little link, its the blurry looking business under the description. Great, I'm an engagement ring as if Christmas doesn't rub "ur single" all over my face enough...

You are the Christmas Star.

What Christmas Ornament are you?

Jingle Bells
You are 'Jingle Bells'! Full of enthusiasm and
good cheer, you are excited by the first
appearances of Christmas decorations in shops
and have been heard singing along to the piped
music. Your attitude to Christmas is one of
childlike delight - with a slightly mercenary
streak. You definitely believe in Santa (you
get more presents that way) and will put up
your Christmas tree as early as possible. You
really like carolling, and presents, and mince
pies, and pudding, and will insist on getting
everyone up at dawn to open presents
immediately. So long as the food and presents
are good, you will have a great Christmas.

I drove into Denton yesterday and as soon as I got here I got ready for Michaela's wedding. I went over to Chelsey's to help her pick out what to wear and I played with her adorable son. I put my knee high boot on Caleb and watched him try to walk around...I nearly wet myself. Because it was such a high heel he was having a really hard time walking, but it was funny! The wedding was pretty, I think it was the first wedding I haven't cried at in awhile. I have a feeling that in my own wedding I'll have to play a recorded version of me saying my vowels or they won't be heard. In my sister's wedding I cried so much that people probably thought I was having a seizure...no lie. I got to see some people I haven't seen in some time. I got to see my closest friends from high school, Sarah & Shelley. And I got to see my old youth minister and his wife, Craig & Susan. And I got to see a girl I use to work with at Old Navy for awhile, Athica. And of course I got to see my dear friends, Renee & Rachel. It was good to get to catch up with Sarah & Shelley, we spent the entire night with them. After the wedding we went to pick Caleb up and I got to see Lori, his grandma...I love her! I wish I was part of the Ellis family, they are great! But luckily my best friend is so I can just go hang out with them with her. Weird that we've been friends for eight years. I love Chelsey Marie!! Tonight shall be fun, I'm gonna go eat dinner with Liz. So far home isn't too bad...

it's weird being around my dog now that i'm use to cappy. lil' bit is just that...a lil' bit. she weighs maybe all of 10lbs. while cappy weighs all of 72. she looks like a chihuahua to me now, i feel like if i touch her i'll break her. its definately much nicer sleeping with her in my bed unlike that massive pooch back in lubbock. marissa said that last night cappy slept with his arms around her the entire time, he best not get use to it because he won't be doing it when i get back.

So this is Cappy & Alissa. Let me just tell you a little story about this sweet innocent looking pooch. Yesterday I discovered his ability to tackle me...I was walking away from our fight session when I realized he wasn't done fighting. He took me down with a quick grab around my ankles. This pooch can put up a good fight. Today I'm in the living room fighting him again and before I know it he's overly excited about my hair clip and he punches me in the face...I get a bloody lip. So here I sit with a bloody lip, and its pretty fat. I lost to a dog... Posted by Hello

"Sin distorts everything, perverts everything, and corrupts everything...Sin lives off that which is good. It is a parasite, feeding greedily on the goodness of what God has made."

This is Zac Morris!!! That's right, not the Zac you remember from Saved by the Bell. But this one is so much better! We're at the Christmas Party at work, it was a blast! Posted by Hello

This is me & Messay at Lauren's wedding. Ya, so I just got the pictures developed...it's only five months later. Posted by Hello

The other day I was driving to class and I was running a little late but that's okay because I always am. I was listening to Kidd Kradick and they were trying to grant a Christmas Wish. This guy was told by his doctors to take one last vacation with his family and so Kidd Kradick wanted to raise money from listeners to send the family to Disney World. Seriously not even five minutes later someone was knocking at the door with $400. I thought to myself what an incredible thing. Then right before I got out of my car this lady called to donated $1,000 and I burst into tears. The lady goes to say that she knew the pain the family was going through as she had lost her father and her husband. I just sat there in my car and thought, in a lost world people are still that willing to help...it's amazing. So then after collecting myself enough to walk to class I think about Christians. And while yes there are many of us who do contribute to things as great as this but there are also many of us that are really selfish. I thought about how people are looking for money to be spent on Missions all the time where thousands of people are unsaved and with out our love what will happen when they die? I personally do not feel a call to world missions but is it not my roommate who needs to raise money to go to Moscow? Is it not the ministry that I am involved in that needs money to build a building for Tech students to hang out to as an alternative to clubs & bars? And yes I realize we are all college students and are money isn't growing on trees and often isn't even existent. Which makes it hard for us to want to give, but as Strap always said, "if your not willing to give now in your poverty, why would you give in your riches?" So how many people are in your life right now that are going to another country and need a lot of support? Can you not drop them a little cash? What about the Lottie Moon offering at church? Anyway, if this world is so willing to send a family on vacation because this man is dying. Why shouldn't we give a friend some money to send them to share the good news with a lost world who is dying too? I'm not saying don't give your money to the man to go on a vacation but use your money wisely. Send someone to China or Russia or wherever it is. Help a friend out when they wanna go to dinner with everyone but can't afford it. Just from experience I know that when your willing to give God is so gracious as to provide for you. I can think of some clear examples in my own life, and God is real good to me financially even though he sometimes should just take all my money away from me.

So this week has been wonderful, absolutely wonderful.

Monday night Renee started moving in and we all went to dinner at On The Border and got to know each other and umm, Renee is amazing!

Tuesday night was the Coldstone work party at Ruby Tequilla's and it was a blast! I seriously had so much stinkin' fun. I got to hang out with Zac and sing with Rebecca. And Kali took me, and she's great! Then me and Roxy hung out afterwards with Megan at Moose Magoo's. So for a funny story about Ruby Tequillas...Zac & I decided to cut up little pieces of jalenpeno and we were both gonna eat it. Zac was smart and threw his over his shoulder while I threw mine in my mouth. At first I thought it wasn't too bad then suddenly it hit and it was really really bad. I started crying uncontrollably. It felt like someone had lit my eyes and mouth on fire. I drank half of Stevens coke trying to make the pain go away, then I ate cheese and a tortialla hoping that would calm it down but no luck. So finally I took off running for the bathroom and I'm sure everyone in the restraunt thought "some drunk girls abotu to throw up" but really, I was running because I knew my mascara was all over my face. And when I finally looked in the mirror sure enough my mascara was up too my forehead, and down to my chin. I rinsed my face with water and applied a wet rag to my lips. I was in so much pain! I got back to the table and the fajitas had arrived and the smoke from them made my eyes burn ten times more. Finally I just started eating and the food eased the pain...I will never eat a jalepeno again...EVER!

Wednesday night I came home from class and hung out with Renee. Did I say Renee was amazing yet?

Thursday night I studied at Daybreak with Renee...she's amazing!

Last night me and Renee planned a date night. We went and ate dinner with James at Moose Magoo's then we went to see Oceans 12. Okay, so I so thought it was better than the first. I thought it was amazing just like Renee. About Moose Magoo's, I haven't laughed as hard as I laughed while we there. I seriously am shocked that I didn't wet myself. Some lady totally fell out of her chair at the bar which was funny. Then directly after that a waitress dropped her food. And sometime during our wonderful time there I spit my drink up everywhere and my burger ended up kind of soggy. So I saw like twenty people I know at the movie theatre and that was reallly really fun for me. So I had a great night!

Today was great too. I went to lunch at Ruby Tequiillas with Zac, Bubba & Rebecca and we had a good time. We got gift certificates from the Christmas party for writing and singing a song. I really enjoy hanging out with them, they are lots of fun. I will kind of miss working at Coldstone...ya thats right, I quit. I spent the day around the hosue cleaning and making cookies. And tonight we had our Southcrest Christmast party. It was a blast. We had a white elephant gift exchange and I ended up with this 3 in 1 pool table set that is amazing! And after the party was over a couple people stayed and we played Twister, I laughed so hard. Andy, Nathan, & Caleb played a round, then Chris & Will and lastly the girls, me, Renee, Alissa & Marissa. Marissal Chris & Nathan were the winners and they did a pretty good job. Well I'm pooped from Twister so I'm gonna go to bed. But tonight and this past week were absolutely incredible and my new roommate is amazing!
